English tv in Majorca

Can anyone tell me of ANY hotel in ANY resort in Majorca that has English tv channels ALL through the day and evening? My wife needs her fix of soaps (Corrie, Eastenders, Emmerdale. ) even when we go on holiday.
She needs to watch them before we go out for the evening. We have been to Majorca a few times but BBC and ITV go off about 7-00pm. (something to do with the satellite so we've been told). I don't mind if we've got to pay extra for them. Cheers

If you do manage to watch BBC1, BBC2, ITV or any other UK channel in Majorca then I’m afraid that you are watching them illegally. The only channels that you could watch legally are BBC World, BBC Prime, Sky News International and a couple of pan European stations in English.

The program content is only licenced to distribution in UK households and no reputable hotel chain will show Sky Sports or BBC1.

They can be viewed in many cafes and bars, where the owners break that law.

I could go into great lengths about the lack of English language general entrainment channels there are available compared to the number of German channels freely available in hotel rooms across Spain, Greece and Portugal, but it would get very complicated.

Just get your wife a dvd of Coronation Street’s greatest hits, that should keep her happy.

Might be worth asking on the forum of Digital Spy, there are a couple of related threads on there. I doubt they'll be able to recommend a hotel though!

The Son Matias Beach hotel located Palma nova/magaluff has a tv in each room, you need to pay a supplement for the remote. It shows BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 5, Sky one and other various 24/7. The only channel missing is channel 4. This hotel tends to cater to the older generation (no under 18yrs allowed) and Ive enjoyed many trips here.
